Coaching Feb 14th 2009 MSR – Edgar B.

Edgar ViperHere is exactly what should be done when you buy a new car. Edgar showed up to the track with less than 1000mi on this Viper and in Edgar’s first session it was verified that there is a rev  limiter on a 2008 Viper. Edgar had only been to the track once before so there was a bit of work to do and he came right up to speed. Edgar is hooked to say it lightly and has already bought the full monty of track gear from slicks to a hans. Well done Edgar, I look forward to our next outing, J

Coaching Feb 13th 2009 MSR – Bob and Theresa H.

Bob Theresa Corvettes2Bob and Theresa came out with their ultra fast corvettes for another day a the track. The 3.1 mile course showed to be very challenging, but they came upto speed quickly and had a great day. After doing a bit of testing with Bob’s yellow car we are going to be making some changes and I am positive he will be stoked with new changes when they are all said and done. Always a pleasure to be at the track with Bob and Theresa. Awesome, J

Coaching Jan 31st – Feb 1st 2009 ECR – Guy D. and

guy_corey_porcheGuy and Corey were getting back in their cars after over 4 months away from the track. After getting back up to speed we made some changes to the set-up of Corey’s car and found that Guy’s car was ready for its drive train refresh. Regardless, both of them turned their fastest laps ever at ECR after the weekend at the track so it was very productive. We will be at the track again in the future as the race season is quickly apporaching. Cheers, J

Coaching Jan 30th 2009 MSR – Glenn S. and Mike R.

glenn_mikeGlenn and Mike came out to MSR for a day on the 3.1 mile course to pick up a few pointers. Both of these drivers are very capable and their cars are as well.  We were able to find a fews seconds for both drivers cleaning up a few lines here and there while improving technique in other areas. It was a blast to be at the track with both of them and I look forward to our next outing. Cheers, J

Testing Steve’s new F430 Challenge Car at ECR 1-10

Steve H Ferrari F430Steve has decided the GT3RS has run it’s course and decided to up for a Ferrari F430 Challenge car. We took it to the track where it proceeded to impress both of us at how easy it was to drive while going very fast. It was far to easy to do 1:50.00’s and we are thinking with a few adjustments it should be a bit below that mark. What an awesome car…a special thanks to Steve for allowing me to drive his new toy a bit. Sweet, J

Coaching Jan 9th 2009 MSR – Bill S.

Bill S PorcheWhat can I say…when a GT3 on slicks prepared by John Galdwill shows up you know the day is going to be awesome. Bill is an increadible driver considering he has only been driving at the track for a little over a year. By the end of the day Bill had found some pace and most importantly consistency. Once again it has been proven that when you go from motorcycles to cars the results are usually impressive. If you ever see this Red GT3 coming get out of the way!

Coaching Jan 4th 2009 H2R – Michael H.

This was my first time at H2R and Michael brought out well prepared Caymen S for the outing. We completely wore out the tires on this car and it was a serious handful by days end. Even with the tire wear Micheal handled the car like a pro and we were able to find time and consistency today. It will be interesting to see how much faster he goes with some new tires! Great Job, J

Coaching Dec 14th 2008 – ECR – Brett L.

Brett L Dec. 14What can I say other than it was an amazing day today. Brett had never been to a race track before and came up to speed like a natural. Learning how to drive on a race track is hard enough, but starting in a Super Car makes the learning curve much steeper. It was a pleasure to watch him progress so quickly. Being the nice guy he is he allowed his brother Matt and assistant Sam to also drive on track for the first time…in super cars no less! They all did an excellent job and not a single wheel was dropped off the track. Oh yeh, I almost for got to mention the cars…Ferrari 599 GTB, Porsche Carrera GT and a Bugatti Veyron! What a day, J

The Drivers Edge Dec 6-7th – MSR

Driver's Edge Dec. 6 - 7We had a great time at the track this weekend with The Drivers Edge and played with some very capable cars. A special thanks to the kind words that were said reguarding my efforts by the drivers, it is great to know there is support for what I am doing. Also a special thanks to Steve and Jessica H., Scott P. and Christopher B. for letting me drive the Porsche GT3RS, Porsche GT3, 360 Ferrari Challenge and C6 Corvette respectively of course. Cheers and Happy Holidays, J

Coaching Dec 5th 2008 MSR – Bob and Theresa H.

Bob Theresa CorvettesBob and Theresa are avid Corvette lovers. They have been coming to the track for some time and for this coaching session they brought 2 cars with modestly modified 427’s totalling @1100rwhp combined!!! It was an awesome day with Theresa finding about 5 seconds per lap and Bob finding around 4 seconds per lap. These are no doubt 2 of the fastest corvettes in Texas that show up to the track with license plates and inspections stickers! I do question the inspection stickers a bit…LOL. Good times with the Halford’s, J

Coaching Nov 21st 2008 MSR – Ginger G.

Ginger PorcheGinger has been driving over the years at most of the events Drivers Edge puts on. She was interested in having someone help her acheive the next level in her driving. We did a bit of skid pad work and began to encourage an earlier throttle application point. She developed a new trust in her car control ability. This coupled with a few tweeks here and there produced a few seconds per lap of improvement. Great job Ginger, J

Coaching Nov 30th 2008 MSR – Tom D.

Tom PorcheTom and I have been working on a day at the track for some time and we finally found one that worked. Tom is a great driver who has been at the track for some time. With Tom we were able to sort out a few new lines and learn to trust his 996 at the limit when most drivers get a little uncomfortable. We were able to find Tom a few seconds today and with the move to slicks I am sure he will be hard to follow in the future. Cheers, J
