Coaching Sept 17-21 NJMP Steve H. Ferrari Challenge

Ferrari Challenge Driver Coaching at NJMP: Steve H. Ends the Season Strong

The final North American Ferrari Challenge race weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park was a strong way to finish the season for Steve H.

After a year of steady development, testing and Ferrari Challenge driver coaching, Steve delivered one of his best weekends of the season, finishing fourth in one race and third in the other.

That third-place finish gave him his first podium of the year and helped secure Rookie of the Year honors. The original Jason Hart Racing update also noted one especially impressive detail: Steve made it through the season without needing to replace a body panel. Jason Hart Racing

A Strong Finish at New Jersey Motorsports Park

A technical environment like NJMP gives drivers plenty to work on, especially when the goal is to build consistency over an entire race weekend.

For Steve, the final event was an opportunity to put together everything he had been developing throughout the season.

Ferrari Challenge Driver Coaching and Development

A Ferrari Challenge season demands more than outright pace.

Drivers need to manage braking, corner entry, tire behavior, traffic, race starts and consistency while continuing to build confidence in the car.

That is where Ferrari Challenge driver coaching can be especially useful.

Throughout the season, the focus can include:

  • braking consistency
  • corner-entry technique
  • throttle application
  • racecraft
  • track positioning
  • data and video review
  • vehicle feedback
  • preparation for qualifying and races

The goal is to help the driver develop a repeatable process rather than simply chase one quick lap.

First Podium of the Season

Steve’s weekend at NJMP showed how that development could translate into results.

He finished fourth and third, earning his first podium of the season. According to the original Jason Hart Racing post, those results also completed his Rookie of the Year campaign. Jason Hart Racing

A podium is always rewarding, but the bigger takeaway was the progression across the season.

Steve continued learning, stayed composed and finished the year with stronger pace and consistency than where he started.

Working With MG1 Motorsports

The season was also supported by MG1 Motorsports.

Why Rookie Seasons Matter

A rookie season is about much more than the final championship position.

It gives a driver an opportunity to understand race-weekend procedures, qualifying pressure, traffic, starts, tire management and how to recover when a session does not go perfectly.

Every weekend provides another reference point.

For Steve, finishing the season with a podium and Rookie of the Year honors was a strong indication that the work throughout the year was moving in the right direction.

Ferrari Challenge North America

Ferrari Challenge North America remains Ferrari’s long-running single-marque racing championship in the region, with drivers competing at major circuits across North America before the season concludes around the Finali Mondiali. IMSA

The format creates a competitive environment where driver development, preparation and consistency are important across every round.

Continuing Driver Development

A successful final weekend does not mean the development process is finished.

The experience gathered during a full season becomes the foundation for the next step — whether that means returning to Ferrari Challenge, testing another car or moving into a different racing program.

Looking Ahead

The NJMP weekend was a strong conclusion to Steve’s season.

A fourth-place finish, a first podium and Rookie of the Year honors made it a weekend worth remembering, and the experience with MG1 Motorsports helped make the season enjoyable from start to finish. Jason Hart Racing

The next step was simply to see what opportunities the following season would bring.
